Be Mine.

I love Valentine's day but not in the traditional way per se. I know a lot of people go all out of Valentine's day, which is fine but I don't think that is what is all about.

Valentine's day is about letting the ones you care about know how much you really love them.
Yesterday I tried very hard to let my baby girl and my wonderful husband know in every way possible how much I love them. It was completely about giving.
I love the day because it gives you all sorts of reasons to surprise someone, do something out of the ordinary, and be extra giving. But it really got me to thinking.....

Why do we need a holiday to do such things? Shouldn't we let the ones we love know how much they are loved every single day? Can't we throw surprises on any given day?
I love Valentine's day, but yesterday really got me to thinking about how everyday should be more like Valentine's day-----filled with love and giving.

Olivia made her "dada" a valentine and I've decided she should make things for him more often!
I surprised Steve with all sorts of little things yesterday and none of them took too much time or effort but they made his day- so I think I should do that more often. Not to mention that he surprised me as well- like when he brought me lunch yesterday just to let me know he was thinking about me!

We had a candlelit dinner- and I want to do that more often...so peaceful. Dinner was delicious but it was the conversation- the sharing of very simple gifts and enjoying each others company.
We may or may not have had a nurf gun war (which Olivia was not too sure about) and it was spontaneous and fun......that needs to happen again as well.
It was a very low key V-day and I liked that. And although to me, it was all about giving--- I gotta say that I loved the beautiful flowers hubs got me and the bean! He was so thoughtful yesterday- what a great man I have! Love my two valentines so very much!
