The Aggies are going Bowlin'!

As mentioned in many posts but most recently this post, I love my Aggies. Seriously, it kills us that we can only watch them play on TV but last Saturday we got to change that.
This little one was such a trooper, a true Aggie Fan. for about 98% of the game she literally just sat on my lap and watched the Aggies play. She was such an Angel!

We took the 3 hour drive down to Las Cruces, NM and watched our Aggies in action as they beat New Mexico State 24-21. Like most of our games, it was scary right up until the end, but they finished it off right and I couldn't be more proud!
Coming out onto the field! Gary's excited!
The Utah State Aggies are going to a bowl game for the first time since 1997- this is a very big deal! We will be playing Ohio in the Potato Bowl in Boise Idaho on December 17th....everyone save the date- it's going to be big! EEK I can hardly wait.

Saturday was so much fun. We were surrounded by Utah State fans, ate hot dogs, popcorn, candy, and cheer our little hearts out. It was so fun to see the players up close and personal. Trav, Turbin, Kennedy, K.Williams, Lloyd, GARY ANDERSON! And we got a kick out of Chuck Jacobs as he had his arms spread out like an eagle as he came out onto the field and frequently caught him on the side lines punching the air....hilarious!

#6- The Turbinator

After we won, the boys came over and sang the Fight song to us! It was marvelous!
After the game waiting for Trav to come out of the locker room....but he took too long and we had a very tired baby so we had to leave. Fun to see Gary, and so many of the players though! Seriously we met some of the nicest people...Aggie fans are the best!
So proud of you boys! Hail the Utah State Aggies! Utah Sate Hey, Aggies All the way, Go aggies, Go aggies, HEY HEY HEY!!

Game Day.

Doesn't fall just scream football? It does to me. I can't tell you how much my heart aches to be sitting in a chilly Romney Stadium watching my Aggies play. I'd love to get all dressed up, take my bean and husband, and sip hot chocolate as I sing the Scotsman with lots of enthusiasm. Oh if only.

Instead every week we get decked in our Utah State gear and cheer them on from the comfort of our home. Now if only the weather here would cooperate--and let it be cool enough to drink hot chocolate. The forecast looks promising this week! If the weather doesn't cooperate I may have to rebel and drink it anyway.

I am a Utah State Aggie through and through. We've had a rough season. Lots of heartbreaking games, and yet I still Believe. I Believe in my Aggies. I love watching Travis VanLeeuwen, one of my best friend's brother, play on the team and do awesome at it. GO TRAV! I love watching Robert Turbin, Matt Austin, Gallagher, Brady, Kerwyn Williams, Chuckie Keeton, and all the other guys get out there and play. I have so much fun watching the game!

I seriously miss Logan, Utah and Utah State University during the fall. I suppose it's because it was in the fall of my freshman year that I met the man I would call my husband. It reminds me of all those feelings I got on our first date, our first kiss, when we said "I love you" and so much more. It was an exciting time in my life and I can't help but look back with the warmest of feelings. I can't wait to take Olivia and future kids there one day and show them where we met (Which was at a Utah State Football game!) and hopefully (okay they really don't have a choice) they will love it so much they will decide to go there as well!

We are brainwashing teaching Olivia at a young age to love HER Aggies. Every week she is decked out in Aggie apparel and ready to cheer them on. Unfortunately, she misses most of the game because she is sleeping--but that's not the point...
I love the fall, football, and my Aggies. The End.

Aggie Bball, long drives, mesquite nevada, and the Grand Canyon

YES!!!! I love Spring Break!!!! Spring Break this year was AMAZING! We did so much and have had a blast while doing it! To start it all off we celebrated by going to our last home bball game....Gary Wilkinson (our one and only senior) was amazing and they awarded his jersey number in a frame! We won (of course!) and we all cheered our little hearts out.....it was senior night and Steve and I felt so sad because it was our senior night too....I never thought I would be sad to leave school but I felt it that night, knowing that we would never watch Aggie Bball as students ever again....but don't you worry we will always be PROUD AGGIE FANS!!!!!
The Man....The Legend....GARY WILKINSON!!!

We stayed after the game for what seemed like forever because we just didn't want to leave...it was so sad!
....We were regular season WAC CHAMPIONS!!!

OUr Good Friends, Alex and Whitney Putnam invited us to go down to Mesquite, NV with them for Spring Break and it was amazing! We drove down Sunday after church.....only after both us and the Putnams sleeping in, our smoke alarm going off for no apparent reason and me losing my hair brush! It was quite a morning! Anyway...The drive down went by pretty quickly which was nice....and when we got there Alex's wonderful parents had a WONDERFUL sunday dinner waiting for us....rolls, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn...the works! YUMM!!! We also played our two favorite games as of late......we played these two games too many times to count this week. SEQUENCE AND TICKET TO RIDE!!!!!! If you have never played them.....go play them NOW ...they are so much fun!

On Monday we were going to head down to the Casablanca and lay by the pool but we had bad luck and it was extremely windy....so we watched I, ROBOT....ate food, went out for mexican food, and went to see the movie Push...it was pretty good.....I think we all enjoyed it! Then we came back to the house and played more games...seriously we are all addicted!

Tuesday was by far the most adventurous day for our trip......we went to the GRAND CANYON!!! We decided to go to the North Rim because it was only a 4 hour trip instead of a 5-6 hour trip. Well there we were on the road, we had been driving for 3 hours so we were almost there and we come upon this......

It was so discouraging.......We stopped at this little lodge and asked them what was with the signs? They said that the North Rim was closed until May 15th because of Snow.....Who would have thought that there was that much snow in Arizona?!?!?....Needless to say we all felt like idiots, but we wanted to see the Grand Canyon so we drove another 3 hours to the South Rim....and it was beautiful!! ...but before we got there we stopped at a couple of scenic stops....the rock houses were really neat!

And finally....THE GRAND CANYON!!!!!....

Then we had a long drive back to Mesquite.....which was quite an adventure as well.....we went back a different way. We went over the Hoover Dam but instead of driving through Vegas and all the traffic we decided to take a back road....little did we know that there was going to be construction. For the hour that we were driving on this back road we never saw another car. Here we are in the middle of no where and we come upon a sign that says...Road Work next 12 miles. Then another sign that says pavement ends, another road that says Loose gravel....and then Steve added "You will die"....since we saw these signs three different times. It was quite a bumpy ride....but it was one more thing to add to our day....and we all just kept laughing!!!

On our last day....we went to the Casablanca and soaked up the sun by the pool, it was wonderful to feel the sun! Of course before we did that Alex and Steve decided to drop a dollar in the slot machines....such sinners! ;)......Steve lost his dollar but Alex won 6 dollars and so we all went to icecream! It was great!!

It was a wonderful Spring Break and we are so grateful to the Putnams for inviting us!!!!!! We love our wonderful friends!!!! We love life!!!!

Last night we went to the game against New Mexico State, who aren't quite as good this year, but we have bad blood with them, so it's always good to beat them! It was amazing as always...........USU ROCKS!!!!! See all the empty seats........we got there super early so we could get good seats!!!!
Scottie and Dave...Getting ready for the game!!....Dave came into town this weekend!!! We are so happy to have him! One of the best part of watching the aggies play.......Being with our incredible FANS!!!!!!

Utah State Aggies

I love watching basketball, especially Utah State Aggie Basketball!!! This year has been phenomenal...our record is 21-1!!!!! It is the best starting record in USU History!!! I love going to the spectrum to watch the games....you should have heard the fans (we have the best fans!) the other night when we played Nevada (rivals)......I don't think it has ever been that loud in the spectrum.....AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Homecoming Football Game---Heartbreaker

Yesterday was our HOmecoming Football Game....Now nobody expected to win, let's be honest we never expect to win but the game was amazing!!!!......until the end. We were up almost the entire first half......right before the half ended we had three yards to go for a touch down and we would have been in the lead but it was the fourth down and our stupid coach told them to go for a field goal instead, stupid, stupid, stupid. Anyways, the second half was pretty good too! We were down almost the entire second half but then we stepped it up and with the last 3 minutes we scored a touch down and then went for two and we were up 28-27!!! There was only 38 seconds left on the clock and we were all so excited!!!!! BUT NOOOOOOO.....our defense let them run a million yards and with 2 seconds left they kick a field goal from the 58 yard line and we lost.........We went from total excitement to heartbroken. The stands went silent as we watched Fresno State players rush the field and screaming for excitement........we couldn't believe it.....seriously, so depressing. ON the up side, we all had a good time watching it! Aggies really need a new football program.......definitely need a new coach!

Kelsey and Cullen.......Oh and Clark!

All his Utah State shirts were dirty.......tisk tisk
