Aggie Bball, long drives, mesquite nevada, and the Grand Canyon

YES!!!! I love Spring Break!!!! Spring Break this year was AMAZING! We did so much and have had a blast while doing it! To start it all off we celebrated by going to our last home bball game....Gary Wilkinson (our one and only senior) was amazing and they awarded his jersey number in a frame! We won (of course!) and we all cheered our little hearts out.....it was senior night and Steve and I felt so sad because it was our senior night too....I never thought I would be sad to leave school but I felt it that night, knowing that we would never watch Aggie Bball as students ever again....but don't you worry we will always be PROUD AGGIE FANS!!!!!
The Man....The Legend....GARY WILKINSON!!!

We stayed after the game for what seemed like forever because we just didn't want to leave...it was so sad!
....We were regular season WAC CHAMPIONS!!!

OUr Good Friends, Alex and Whitney Putnam invited us to go down to Mesquite, NV with them for Spring Break and it was amazing! We drove down Sunday after church.....only after both us and the Putnams sleeping in, our smoke alarm going off for no apparent reason and me losing my hair brush! It was quite a morning! Anyway...The drive down went by pretty quickly which was nice....and when we got there Alex's wonderful parents had a WONDERFUL sunday dinner waiting for us....rolls, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn...the works! YUMM!!! We also played our two favorite games as of late......we played these two games too many times to count this week. SEQUENCE AND TICKET TO RIDE!!!!!! If you have never played them.....go play them NOW ...they are so much fun!

On Monday we were going to head down to the Casablanca and lay by the pool but we had bad luck and it was extremely windy....so we watched I, ROBOT....ate food, went out for mexican food, and went to see the movie Push...it was pretty good.....I think we all enjoyed it! Then we came back to the house and played more games...seriously we are all addicted!

Tuesday was by far the most adventurous day for our trip......we went to the GRAND CANYON!!! We decided to go to the North Rim because it was only a 4 hour trip instead of a 5-6 hour trip. Well there we were on the road, we had been driving for 3 hours so we were almost there and we come upon this......

It was so discouraging.......We stopped at this little lodge and asked them what was with the signs? They said that the North Rim was closed until May 15th because of Snow.....Who would have thought that there was that much snow in Arizona?!?!?....Needless to say we all felt like idiots, but we wanted to see the Grand Canyon so we drove another 3 hours to the South Rim....and it was beautiful!! ...but before we got there we stopped at a couple of scenic stops....the rock houses were really neat!

And finally....THE GRAND CANYON!!!!!....

Then we had a long drive back to Mesquite.....which was quite an adventure as well.....we went back a different way. We went over the Hoover Dam but instead of driving through Vegas and all the traffic we decided to take a back road....little did we know that there was going to be construction. For the hour that we were driving on this back road we never saw another car. Here we are in the middle of no where and we come upon a sign that says...Road Work next 12 miles. Then another sign that says pavement ends, another road that says Loose gravel....and then Steve added "You will die"....since we saw these signs three different times. It was quite a bumpy ride....but it was one more thing to add to our day....and we all just kept laughing!!!

On our last day....we went to the Casablanca and soaked up the sun by the pool, it was wonderful to feel the sun! Of course before we did that Alex and Steve decided to drop a dollar in the slot machines....such sinners! ;)......Steve lost his dollar but Alex won 6 dollars and so we all went to icecream! It was great!!

It was a wonderful Spring Break and we are so grateful to the Putnams for inviting us!!!!!! We love our wonderful friends!!!! We love life!!!!

We too are addicted to Ticket to Ride. We got it at Christmas and I think we've played it almost every weekend since! If you guys are still planning on moving out here, we'll definitely have to get together and play!

what an awesome trip! Good that you kept a good attitude about it all and didn't get discouraged and make your trip sad. (ps, on the side:I almost worked at Jacob's lake one summer). Get it all the playing that you can before leaving schooL!
