A Different Thanksgiving

This year thanksgiving was a little bit different. Steve's wonderful Nana passed away right before Thanksgiving. It was pretty unexpected, and it was extremely hard for all of the family. Steve was extremely close with her, in fact he served part of his mission for 8 months in Jackson Hole where Nana and Pop live. It was sad. She was a wonderful woman. Steve says she is one of the most charitable people he has ever known! She truly was amazing, and I am grateful that I got to know her for the time that I did. She loved many, was loved by many, and will be missed by many.

The funeral was the day before Thanksgiving, and the service was beautiful. Of course, we all cried but the spirit was strong there and I am sure Nana was happy with the way it went. Nana is buried in California in the largest Cemetery in the world and I could say the prettiest cemetery that I have ever seen. She is on top of a hill overlooking so many beautiful things! It was breathtaking. once again, she was a wonderful woman and we all hope to keep living our lives the way we should to make her proud!

Thanksgiving was delicious. It was sort of last minute planning because we were all preparing for the funeral. We ate late on thanksgiving, everyone was starving but no one got ornery! We enjoyed each other's company all day. I especially had fun with Steve's Aunt that day! She is a pleasure to be around. We set out the tables, crawled under the tables, haha and made the delicious gravy! It was a good thanksgiving, and we all had a lot to be thankful for, especially for each other!

I'm so sorry to hear about that. It's tough to lose loved ones, especially around the holidays.
