New Old Friends

Last week Olivia and I were enjoying one of our many adventures outside. We walk around our apartment complex who knows how many times picking up rocks, sticks, and pointing at the birdies and doggies. She is such an outdoor kitty! Which reminds me that we've had a rough couple of days because the weather is not cooperating with us. WE WANT OUT!

So it was on one of these adventures last week that something so unexpected and entirely exciting happened to us. We were playing with rocks when I heard a stranger say "Hello?" from behind me. I turned around and was surprised when it was no stranger at all. It was my close friend from high school. He is in the Air Force and stationed here for a short time. What a coincidence that we not only live in the same apartment complex but the SAME BUILDING! I could not believe it! I was in shock really. It made my whole day. Life happens and you loose touch with people you really did care about because well- life happens. But this was just wonderful.

I was able to meet his sweet wife, and I feel like I have known her for forever. And I introduced them to my wonderful family- best hubs and cutest little girl. We had them over for dinner and it was so much fun. It was great to catch up on old times and find out where life has brought us to this point. Olivia loved them too. She was smitten. Even though they will not be here for long- they will be here long enough to enjoy them! To spend some time and make new memories. What a happy day. My life is good.
