Needed Friend.

(This was my day yesterday....)

I told you about last week and how lazy I was right? Let's talk about laziness.

There are those days where you get absolutely nothing accomplished on your to do list. You decided instead to sit around on your butt and peruse the world of blogs, facebook, twitter, etc... If you're like me, you feel like scum at the end of these days.

Then there are other days. Days that follow a day that was filled with hair-pulling stress and the go go go of everyday life. The days after are interesting ones. These are the days when the baby goes down for a nap, you sit your butt on the couch for a breather and you look into your kitchen and sigh. A little friend on your shoulder starts saying "this is the perfect time to clean! You really should clean the kitchen, not to mention fold the laundry, write thank you notes, vacuum this disgusting carpet, make the bed..." these words are quickly interrupted (but not nearly quickly enough) by a friend on the other shoulder saying..."remember yesterday? Remember the stressful day it was? Remember how horribly the baby slept last night? The kitchen can wait, take a nap!!" On days like this, the decision is easy.

So into peaceful and quiet slumber you fall. You wake up feeling refreshed, renewed. Then, you look down at the clock and realize You have been sleeping for 2 hours! You go into panic mode. Just a bit. The baby doesn't usually sleep this long, is she okay? So you tiptoe into the bedroom. Its almost as if she knows You're there because she starts to squirm (ok she's breathing.) You grab the binky and prop it back into her tiny and completely adorable mouth and she starts sucking and continues into her peaceful slumber. You smile above, so thankful for this wonderful blessing of a day.

And on days like today, instead of rushing to get things done now that you've gotten some rest, you simply make a nice lunch, eat it leisurely, then sit on your nice couch and read this.

Dreaming of having an office one day that is so beautifully organized like this. It makes your heart flutter just a bit.

You pretend you are sitting in a living room like this(minus the dog)

On days like today the laziness is okay, maybe even needed. To help mind, body, and spirit to feel whole again. Days like today You embrace the laziness as a very welcome friend instead of an enemy. Today the two of you join forces for one common goal: rejuvenation and happiness.

And then all too quickly the laziness will have to be shunned once again treated like an outsider. Because pretty soon the evening will come and the to do's will have to be checked off.

I know tomorrow I won't want you anywhere near me, but today you were a much needed friend. :)

And yes the floor still needs to be vacuumed, the laundry folded, and my kitchen still looks like this

Don't judge okay? Okay Okay...this morning I finally cleaned it!

P.S. A delicious recipe coming tomorrow!!

Amen to that! Sometimes laziness is the perfect way to spend a day. I think my favorite part of this post was when you said "(minus the dog)" - hahaha. Seriously.
