Here are my few ideas:
-I blog...about pretty much everything.
-I keep a little journal for special moments
-I take LOTS of pictures and write captions when I download them so I remember why they are important
-I'm making each of them a video of all their videos/pictures of the year with music for their birthdays
-I put together an easy/fast photo book of my favorite photos of the year

LOTS to say...but that has really helped us.

I have been jotting down things I want to remember each month and then record them on my blog. Now that we are coming up on K's first birthday, I printed all of those out and am scrapbooking them month by month, adding my favorite pictures from those months. We will see how it turns out :)

I just have all of my pictures in separate folders sorted by months. I write captions under the photos if there's something particular that I want to remember. I've taken almost 2,000 in the past 6 months so most of them don't have captions. I need to burn them to a dvd in case *knock on wood* something happens and our computer crashes. Maybe I should do that now...

Hey, I forgot you went private and I forgot to check your blog!
I have been doing what your mom did and just print pictures of each kid for their "box" of photos. But with this online scrapbooking it is so easy and sooooo fast. First, make sure you always have digitals of your photos. Then, get onto any dig scrap site (picaboo.com, or even just coscto.com) and make a SIMPLE book. You can get great deals. I just did a book for each kid of their first year of life--and it cost me about 50$ total. That was with an amazing deal, though. I will then wait til they are eight and do another book of their "childhood" and then when they are 18 or so do another for their "teenage", then another for mission, but I stop there. That is my plan. I feel like I can handle that. I don't think I can handle MORE than that. I am just not a scrapbooker. I started when Weston was a baby (with hard/paper scrapbooking) and have 4 pages done. That is it! I don't want to leave anybody out and I just don't have the time to do this a lot (wait, you'll see...) and so if I do it this way, I can handle it!

Good luck girlie!
