CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Christmas this year was crazy but wonderful! We just moved, so it didn't really seem like Christmas until about 2 days before. We were so busy it just didn't set in until then. Part of the reason that might have been was because of our tree. We got our tree a week before christmas. We put the lights on, ornaments etc... and it didn't look half bad. It still looked like a poor woman's tree but it was our cute Christmas tree. (plus it smelled nice!) So ANYWAY, we went to bed that night pleased. We woke up at 2 in the morning to a crash....yup our tree had fallen right over. We both got out of bed and just looked at, but decided not to do anything about it until the morning.

The problem was that the only stand we could find that late was a plastic stand at target. (warning: they DO NOT work!) So we went to the store and bought a 25 LB bag of ice melt to weigh down our stand. It worked! The tree stayed up for the rest of the Christmas season......only one problem. It was completely crooked. Here I will prove it to you:(not to mention that a handful of my ornaments broke, and I took several off after it fell so that more of them wouldn't break. The whole tree doesn't look as nice as it once did because I was too upset to fix it!) Needless to say, it was very stressful and it did not bring Christmas cheer!

Christmas Eve was great! Steve and I went to see "Invictus" Definitely recommend it! It was very inspiring! Then we went out to dinner. After we did the traditional opening of the PJ's!
(doesn't he look so happy!)
Christmas Eve was also wonderful because we read Luke 2 and talked about what Christmas is all about. it was wonderful to focus on the Savior and what he has done for us!

We have had a terrible mattress...(We just got a new one! YAY!) so we decided to bring our mattress out on the floor to sleep on....which was way fun because we slept next to the tree Our Christmas Pj's and the tree!

We were so spoiled! Plus you should notice that I got season 2 of Psych...one of my FAVORITE tv shows of all time! If you haven't watched it you should! It starts up again on Jan.27th on USA!!! wait for IT!!!

Christmas day was wonderful! After we opened presents, we went to Steve's Aunt and Uncle's house. His aunt made the most amazing Christmas brunch! She had bagels, salmon, makings for burritos, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, bacon, eggs, plus MORE! Oh it was so yummy. We just ate, sat around and talked for like 5 hours and it was marvelous! Christmas night Steve and I watched family videos that my parents gave us! It was such a wonderful day! Plus I got to talk to everyone of my siblings which is always a happy thing!

Steve's family has a wonderful tradition. They have a 2nd Christmas! The whole family flies in the day after Christmas! Then one night they have a nice catered dinner and then exchange presents! It was marvelous! It was so fun to have the whole family in town! We watched movies, watched TONS of football which was actually quite enjoyable, played games (sequence mostly!), and laughed lots! The catered dinner was amazing and the company was wonderful too!
Getting ready to open presents! Don't you love the upside down tree? Merry Christmas!!
Lannie and Pop
Megan and typical Brian!! haha
What a cute family!
The other Rules.....and Steve had to be a part of their family too!

It was a wonderful season and I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas too!!

How fun to have a sleepover in the living room with the tree! I love it! Also, thanks for the recommendation on Psych--we've been looking for a new good TV show.
