The problem was that the only stand we could find that late was a plastic stand at target. (warning: they DO NOT work!) So we went to the store and bought a 25 LB bag of ice melt to weigh down our stand. It worked! The tree stayed up for the rest of the Christmas season......only one problem. It was completely crooked. Here I will prove it to you:
Christmas Eve was great! Steve and I went to see "Invictus" Definitely recommend it! It was very inspiring! Then we went out to dinner. After we did the traditional opening of the PJ's!
Christmas Eve was also wonderful because we read Luke 2 and talked about what Christmas is all about. it was wonderful to focus on the Savior and what he has done for us!
We have had a terrible mattress...(We just got a new one! YAY!) so we decided to bring our mattress out on the floor to sleep on....which was way fun because we slept next to the tree
Christmas day was wonderful! After we opened presents, we went to Steve's Aunt and Uncle's house. His aunt made the most amazing Christmas brunch! She had bagels, salmon, makings for burritos, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, bacon, eggs, plus MORE! Oh it was so yummy. We just ate, sat around and talked for like 5 hours and it was marvelous! Christmas night Steve and I watched family videos that my parents gave us! It was such a wonderful day! Plus I got to talk to everyone of my siblings which is always a happy thing!
Steve's family has a wonderful tradition. They have a 2nd Christmas! The whole family flies in the day after Christmas! Then one night they have a nice catered dinner and then exchange presents! It was marvelous! It was so fun to have the whole family in town! We watched movies, watched TONS of football which was actually quite enjoyable, played games (sequence mostly!), and laughed lots! The catered dinner was amazing and the company was wonderful too!
It was a wonderful season and I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas too!!

How fun to have a sleepover in the living room with the tree! I love it! Also, thanks for the recommendation on Psych--we've been looking for a new good TV show.
